Revamped Awards for 30th anniversary
This year is a very special one for the Association of Photographers (AOP) Awards — it’s 30 years since the main Photographers Awards was launched and the Association has recognised the landmark date by transforming its whole Awards programme.
The Photographers Awards were created in 1983 to encourage creative exploration and to give members a way to exhibit their skills to commissioners and others in the industry.

The AOP has joined over 70 creator and rights owner organisations in signing a briefing paper objecting to UK Government plans to fundamentally change copyright legislation.
The document, drafted by Serena Tierney, Head of Intellectual Property at Bircham Dyson Bell, has been sent to Peers participating in the Grand Committee Stage of the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill, during which the proposed measures will be debated.

This morning AOP President Simon Leach was invited by BBC Radio 4's You and Yours programme to comment on yesterday's news that high-street camera retailer Jessops has gone into administration.
In a package which included comment from reporter John Douglas and customers on the scene in the Jessops central Manchester store, Simon's live interview with main presenter Winifred Robinson gave some context to the problems Jessops has experienced.

The exhibition will be showcased until 11 February and includes work from Dylan Collard, Jeroen Hofman, Arjan Benning, Wendy Carrig, Darrin Jenkins, Rory Carnegie, Richard Allenby-Pratt, Mark Bramley, Nick Meek, Sam Robinson, James Bell, Adrian Lyon, Kai-Uwe Gundlach.
