I am a documentary and editorial photographer based in London. Documentary because I am very keen on landscape matters, while editorial because I am oriented to the e-commerce side of the industry.

I graduated in Photography and Visual Art by obtaining a master's degree, where I have formed as a photographer by working alongside my tutors during the master's degree.
Before the master's mentioned above, I studied Fine Art. This, as confirmation of my deep interest in never changing the topic of my studies, gave me the possibility to go deep into it, exploring the boundaries of the case.

My work was exhibited in various group shows and appeared around in some publications around the globe through sector magazines and books.

Also, I pursued a career as a freelance photographer, where I helped some brands and entrepreneurs to reach their commercials target by providing digital content for their businesses.

I am an enthusiastic person, professional and a fast learner who has studied photography for more than 10 years with the same and constant interest, making me a valuable individual with the knowledge to spend in the industry. When it comes to building sets and arranging lights, DIGI control, photographers can dedicate themselves to the creative side and leave all the technical aspects in my hands, even in the most complicated situations. I am always pleasant as an assistant taking care of the most aspects during a shooting. I don't mind going the extra mile to please the person/organisation I am working for. It is part of my personality. I have a full UK clean driving licence and can provide a vehicle if needed.

I am a user of Photoshop & CaptureOne.

The systems that I know are Sony and Canon.
The light kits that I know are Profoto, Bowens and all in between.

Italian nationality
8 years in the UK

Happy to travel for work. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

Best Wishes

Nick Collins

I'm a London based DigiTech and lighting Gaffer with more than 12 years of experience working freelance in the photographic industry.

In my time as a photographic assistant, I have worked on shoots in just about every genre of photography imaginable, from portraiture, fashion and sport photography, all the way through to automotive, underwater and still life. I've even had the privilege of lighting the Queen for a royal portrait. Having such varied experiences in my career has put me in good stead to anticipate and find solutions to any problems that might come up on shoots.

Equipment wise, I'm happy using any brand of lighting, both flash and continuous. As a Digitech, I'm happy and well-versed in all the main camera systems, as well as Capture One, Phocus and Photoshop on both Mac and PC. I have even invented my own photographic equipment, including the Fotofortress Quick Release Tether Lock which is now available for sale in the UK, Europe, North America and Australia.

Other skills I have acquired over the years include professional rigging, from working as a scaffolder before starting my photography career. I'm also good with my hands and have the tools and the knowledge to build sets, coves and flats if needed. I have my BS7909 certificate in temporary power systems, an essential qualification if you want to work in lighting in the film and TV industry.

Finally, I also have a selection of DigiTech equipment available for hire, including a digi cart and 2 x 27 inch Eizo monitors which I'm happy to rent out for 20% less than the fees charged by the main rental houses.

Thanks so much and I look forward to working with you soon!

Eryn Baxter

Sam Reeves

I am a proficient Digital Operator, Retoucher and Assistant with more than ten years experience within the photography industry.

The first few years I focused on improving my assisting and digital operating skills. I then worked at Darkroom Digital as a full time Retoucher for five years, and for the last two and a half years have been getting back on set.

Whilst I enjoyed retouching full time, I missed the variation of being on set, so returned to being freelance.

At present I am regularly assisting still life, food and drinks, lifestyle, fashion and advertising Photographers in studios and on location in the UK, Europe and the U.S.

Tom Hanslien

Based in Woolwich, Greenwich, I am a professional photographer working closely with large and small businesses in London and further afield. I am here to help if you are planning a photo shoot – whether large or small - to promote your brand, service or product. It could be for the purpose of advertising, a catalogue or maybe for your company website.

I am always at hand dedicated to fulfil any brief you may have, whether it is lifestyle, advertising or corporate events photography.
Over the years I have developed a problem-solving approach, a very keen eye, and an excellent understanding of composition. This, coupled with an in-depth knowledge of post production, and the following process of design and artwork, ensures that I can exceed any expectations. I also always pride myself in delivering a finished product on schedule and on budget.

One of my big passions is my love of travel, and to share my experiences through my images. This does not only take me around the world – with many great new images as a result - but it is also a continuing source of inspiration which influences and feeds my enthusiasm for photography.

Post Production:

With many years experience of high-end retouching I am able to take control of the post production of my images if this is required. The advantage of this is that my style and quality control can be consistent throughout the whole process and I can deliver a truly finished product. Some examples of previous post production projects can be seen at my DigiSurgeon website.

Valerio Lettieri

Hi, I’m Valerio. I have been working in the photography industry since 2015. Before assisting, I was a retouching teacher at a photography school in London. I started as a studio assistant and then I moved on to first/second assistant as well as digital operator and retoucher. Originally from Italy, I’m now based in south London.

Over the years I have worked with a number of photographers both in Italy and in the UK. I have spent most of my assisting time on location, around Europe and the Middle East. This has given me a deep understanding on how to travel with photographic equipment and how to quickly tackle challenging weather conditions when the team needs to be most efficient.
I have experience shooting in extreme cold / hot environments and also as a second shooter for events.

I’m highly proficient in post production and colour management. I’m accustomed to working fast under tight deadlines and to delivering files for either digital or print use.

Here’s an overview of my skills:
- Camera systems: Canon, Sony, Nikon, Leica.

- Lighting: Profoto, Elinchrom, Arri, LED’s, Dedo.

- Software and post production: Capture One, Lightroom, Photoshop, Camera RAW, Bridge, Da Vinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Wacom, VR and 360° stills.

- Languages: mother tongue Italian, fluent English, basic French

Equipment available to rent:
- 15-inch MacBook Pro (includes Capture One Pro, Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom, Da Vinci)
- 27-inch Benq Monitor
- Datacolor Spyder 5 Pro
- Wacom Intuos Pro Small
- Sony A7 IV + lenses
- Leica M240 + lenses
- Hand painted background
- Manfrotto 190 Tripod + 410 Micro-metric geared head
- F&V K4000 SE Daylight LED Panel
- 500W flashes with a wide range of light shapers

I hold an Italian passport, a UK driving license and I have my own car.
I’m happy to travel/drive anywhere if required.

I play guitar and I’m a very good cook!

Please, get in touch to chat about your specific needs.

I am a documentary and editorial photographer based near Farnham, Surrey, less than one hour outside London. When possible, I also travel regularly to North Wales and other areas of the. I lived in New York for 15 years before returning to the UK in 2018.

In 2017 my ongoing project on people of North Welsh heritage in the northeast US was exhibited at Northern Eye Festival. It was subsequently awarded a commission from the Welsh Parliament in 2019 for exhibition around Wales in 2019-20.

Selected clients & features include: HSBC, Sterling Publishing, The Pirbright Institute, The Western Mail, The Western People, Documenting Britain, Stellazine, Rear Curtain, Pictory.

Prior to launching my freelance photography career, I was a research scientist (virology) and science communication professional for academic research institutions and a medical school in the US and UK.

I’m an enthusiastic, professional, curious and a fast learner, which is helping build up my experience after beginning to assist in the last year. I have found that my Ph.D., training and the specialist knowledge I have in science and medicine gives credibility and an ability to pick up on technical scientific language that puts scientists at ease when I'm talking to and photographing them. Having been on the communications and marketing side I have experience of the requirements and pressures communications, media and marketing teams have when commissioning work, which enables me to understand their needs and communicate calmly and clearly with them. I also apply these skills in non-scientific or medical disciplines and situations.

I am a user of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and am currently learning CaptureOne and PhotoMechanic.

I've assisted in studio with photographers using PhaseOne, Profoto and Elinchrom kits.

I use both digital and film kits.
Digital: Current - Fujifilm X, prior experience of Canon 5D II
Film: Leica M6TTL, Hasselbad Xpan, Yashica 635 TLR. I develop and print my own black & white negatives.

British national (and passport)
Clean driving license (own a car).

Happy to travel for work. Please get in touch! Best wishes, and take care,

Pim van Baalen

Hello, I'm Pim.

I work as a technical production planner, Gaffer/Light technician, and digital operator.

After working in the industry for over 7 years in various roles, I started a technical production company named Pim Productions. I take care of the whole technical side of your production, so photographers and DOP's can focus on the creative side of the job, in both preparation and on set.

I can help you out with; light design, making equipment lists, liaising with equipment rentals, gathering the right technical team for the job, and giving you a hand on set.

Photographers and DOP's enjoy working with me as it allows them to focus on what they do best: making images.

I'm based in London but working worldwide.

If there is anything I can help you with, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Aidan Saunders

I am a recent graduate from Nottingham Trent University, who graduated with a 2:1 in BA Photography. I am currently looking for experience with assisting photographers around the London area. I am very flexible with my time, and am keen to expand my knowledge and experience through working with different people in different locations. I currently work as a freelance studio photography assistant for a company but as this is freelance, my time is flexible.

Since moving to London, I have become trained as a Digi/Image coordinator, styling assistant and have coordinated the styling for a few lifestyle shoots.

My personal photography work often focuses on the stories and experiences of people captured through photography. My interests and projects lie between the genres of portraiture and fashion, mainly in a studio environment. Often working with 35mm film or digital, I endeavour to create relationships between model and myself to discover experiences conveyed and spoken about through photography. My current project, Breaking the Binary, is a zine which engages with the representation of the trans/non-binary/gender non-conforming community through interviews and capturing personal portraits/fashion imagery. This project has increased its longevity to become a project expanding past University. I endeavour to attend London Fashion Weeks too. I aspire to work within a studio working for an e-commerce brand, taking images for their websites and other sales points. At the moment, I am trying to gain as much experience and knowledge with working within the studio.

My personal work has been exhibited at Backlit Gallery Nottingham, and Breaking the Binary is soon to be exhibited at OFF Bratislava.

I have worked for small fashion brands, small student businesses and a range of other businesses. My clients have booked me for fashion shoots, headshots and personal images too.
