Welcome

The AOP is a membership based organisation comprised of Professional Photographers, Agents, Assistants and Students as well as Affililiated Colleges and Affiliated Companies.

We promote best business practice through our book and website, Beyond the Lens, and give easy to understand advice on copyright via copyright4clients. Our members enjoy a number of extra benefits including one-to-one business advice and access to Legal advice through our appointed solictors. Through campaigning & consultations we have also played a major role in shaping copyright legislation over many years.

We run a substantial Awards program including the Photographers Awards, Assistants Awards, Student Awards and The Open which is open to professionals and amateurs alike.

We run our own Gallery in Shoreditch, London, which showcases the best in Photography and is available for hire for exhibitions and private events.

The AOP also publish the award winning Image magazine featuring the best in photography and what's happening in our industry today.

In addition to the above we also run the AOP JobShop (The one-stop-shop for finding the right people to work in your organisation) and the Photo Services Directory, which contains anything from Accountants to Animals, Labs to Locations, Stylists to Studios and everything in-between.
